The Truth Shall Make You Free
The human tendency is to think that if we have failed God and He is thus displeased with us, then God’s love for us has diminished also. This may be a human trait at times but it is not a divine one. Sin in all its ugliness, does obstruct a child of God’s fellowship with our Lord and it inhibits our opportunities to be used by Him and to glorify Him, but it does not lessen His love for us as His blood bought and washed children.
God’s Formula for Rest
In His word, the Bible, God has given His children a formula for rest. However, too often, we misunderstand the formula and like in the examples above, are not happy with the results. In this study we are going to examine God”s formula for rest in its three steps in an effort to obtain the desired end results.
Would You Like to Have a Happy Marriage?
If someone offered you a guaranteed happy marriage for $1,000, would you be willing to pay that much for it? How about $5,000? $10,000? Well the truth is that it’s going to cost you a whole lot more than that. In fact, a really happy marriage is going to cost you everything you have! Is it worth that much to you?
Important “Keys” to Bible Understanding
When studying the scriptures, there are four important points or “keys” to keep in mind. Neglect of these points has lead to much confusion and false doctrine. Whereas, careful application of these precepts may help open the Holy Scriptures for a clearer understanding of the will of God for our lives.
Bible Study on Acts
An early Greek manuscript simply placed the title (praxeis, doings) Acts on this book. It has been suggested the title “Acts of the Holy Spirit” would be more accurate because of the many references to the person and work of the Holy Spirit in matters of directing the early church.
The Uniqueness and Consequent Intolerance of Christ
A radio broadcast by Maurice Johnson, which is just as true and relevant today as it was in the 1950’s when this was broadcast.
Seasons Greetings
Sincerely and honestly, at this time and always, we wish you the joy from above that only the Lord Jesus Christ can give — let us tell you why — we wish you then, not a Merry Christmas, but a joyous eternity.
XMAS, the Diabolical Paradox
Diabolical: of, or pertaining to, the Devil.
Paradox: a self-contradictory statement.
Christmas is purported to be a celebration honoring the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ. By simply and honestly examining the history, the scriptures and the actual practices of Christmas, it may be easily seen that it is truly a work of Satan foisted on an unsuspecting and willingly gullible humanity.
Does Easter Glorify Christ?
Easter traces its roots back to the vilest pagan traditions which are specifically condemned by the word of God. Christians should seek to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ in their lives as directed by the Bible and not through pagan traditions.
Evidence of Salvation
When a baby is born into this world there is positive proof they are alive. They breathe, cry, wriggle, eat and all the things associated with human physical life. As time passes they grow and perceive more and more of their being and respond accordingly. Even so, when a person becomes a child of God, their new spiritual life is manifest in ways that may be identified as unique to a child of God. Following is a list of such evidence.
Are You Going To Heaven?
Take this simple test and find out. No test can prove you are going to heaven, but if you answer these questions honestly from your heart, you can answer this question for yourself.
Isn’t it Strange?
Isn’t it strange that Jesus Christ, who claimed to be God, made this offer, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matt. 11:28) — but most have refused to go to Him for the solution to their problems. Notice, He said, “Come to ME,” not to religion.
Authority, Order and Motivation
This is intended to encourage thinking about the motivating factors behind the various decisions that every Christian makes in everyday life. We all have an old nature, the “old man” of Eph 4, that we have to deal with continually. This should cause us to realize that there will be some things that we do that are not pleasing to the LORD
Are You a Religious Drunkard?
If there is only “one, true, spiritual church” then, of course, the so-called “visible” churches are not “true” and they are not “spiritual.” Since the Lord Jesus Christ is building only one church, the one concerning which He promised: “Upon this rock I will build my church,” who but a “drunk” could think He is building any one of these man-made, local churches — to say nothing of the 666 varying, competing, sectarian corporations called Christian Churches?
Join the Church of Your Choice or Join the Church of God’s Choice
Is there a Church of God’s choice for his children? We believe God has commanded us to endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. We want to study God’s word with you to prove the body of Christ is functional and the only church the Lord is building. Salvation by God’s grace makes you a member of His church.
Testing the Mormon Gospel
Since we are instructed in the word of God to ”prove all things and hold fast to that which is good“ (1 Thess 5:21), at least three questions should immediately come to mind. How does the gospel ministered by the apostle Paul in the Bible compare with the ”fullness of the everlasting gospel“ contained in Mormonism? Does Joseph Smith pass God’s test for a true prophet? Does the ”account of the former inhabitants of this continent“ in the Book of Mormon find verification in history and archaeology as the Bible does with its record?
Calvanism
The three basic tenants of Calvanism: (1) limited atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ (2) total blindness of unsaved, and (3) unconditional election of the saved (and therefore the lost), are answered from a Biblical perspective.
8 Kinds of Death
God’s definitions of death are as surely divine REVELATIONS as are His definitions of life. Only the Spirit of God can reveal to us the real meaning of Paul’s inspired declaration that “She that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth”.—1 Tim. 5:6. So also with John’s statement in 1 John 5:12: “He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life”.
