Other 'gods'

May we hearken back to Deut 18:22 and that portion of the test for a false prophet which said if "he spoke in the name of other gods."

The god of Mormonism is another god. He is certainly not the Almighty God of the Bible Who is "from everlasting to everlasting" (Psalms 90:2)! Mormons believe, as clearly seen above, that they may attain to godhood and actually be like the most high God, "from everlasting to everlasting" (D&C 132:20). Those who are familiar with the true word of God will immediately be repulsed and remember the one who originally made such a boast...Satan:

"I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High." (Isaiah 14:14)

This is also the lie Satan held out to Eve and he is still using it on mankind today through Mormonism:

"For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil." (Genesis 3:5)

Note these very clear declarations from God Almighty about Himself:

"I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images." (Isaiah 42:8)

"Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me." (Isaiah 43:10)

"Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else." (Isaiah 45:22)
