“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. (1 John 4:1)” This shouldn't come as any surprise because God has warned us. “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! (2 Timothy 3:1-5)”
8 Kinds of Death
God’s definitions of death are as surely divine REVELATIONS as are His definitions of life. Only the Spirit of God can reveal to us the real meaning of Paul’s inspired declaration that “She that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth”.—1 Tim. 5:6. So also with John’s statement in 1 John 5:12: “He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life”.
Three Open Leters To Herbert W. Armstrong
These letters were written many years ago, and there have been changes in the so-called World Wide Church of God since then, but we are continuing to publish them because they have been referenced in other wide-spread literature and we still receive many requests for them. We know that Satan doesn’t have any new tricks up his sleeves, so these principles can help today, “lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices (2 Corinthians 2:11).”
The three basic tenants of Calvanism: (1) limited atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ (2) total blindness of unsaved, and (3) unconditional election of the saved (and therefore the lost), are answered from a Biblical perspective.
Testing the Mormon Gospel
Since we are instructed in the word of God to ”prove all things and hold fast to that which is good“ (1 Thess 5:21), at least three questions should immediately come to mind. How does the gospel ministered by the apostle Paul in the Bible compare with the ”fullness of the everlasting gospel“ contained in Mormonism? Does Joseph Smith pass God’s test for a true prophet? Does the ”account of the former inhabitants of this continent“ in the Book of Mormon find verification in history and archaeology as the Bible does with its record?
Testing the Roman Catholic Church
Is the Roman Catholic Church the one true church of the Bible? The Roman Catholic Church claims to be the one and only true church. They claim they are resting on three pillars: the Bible, the Church Fathers, and Tradition. But as we will see these don't agree, so they are really just trusting tradition, which is not a safe place for a child of God.
