BIBLETRUTHS

Our hope is that you will be as those in Berea. “These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so. (Acts 17:11)” Having this attitude, we trust that you will then obey these exhortations from the apostle Paul, “Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil. (1 Thessalonians 5:20-22)”

Some Proofs of God
What would a logical person accept as proof of God? Would he require God Almighty to appear before him in order to acknowledge His existence? Would he apply this same criterion to everything else in life?

Proof The Bible is the Word of God
The Bible was written by about 40 different human writers who lived over a period of about 1500 years (50 generations). Many of these writers had no opportunity to collaborate with each other and yet, there are no contradictions in their writings! Like no other book, the writers all agreed on such themes as morality, child rearing, husband and wife relationships, the character of God, the way of salvation and the birth, life, death and resurrection of the Savior of mankind, in minute details.

Important “Keys” to Bible Understanding
When studying the scriptures, there are four important points or “keys” to keep in mind. Neglect of these points has lead to much confusion and false doctrine. Whereas, careful application of these precepts may help open the Holy Scriptures for a clearer understanding of the will of God for our lives.

Jesus: Who is He?
Who was Christ? Was He a man? An angel? A “Spirit Creature”? Was He “a god”? Was He The God? Will your conclusion be the reasoning of a human mind, or will it be the true testimony of the Word of God? A Challenge to Search the Scriptures!

The Uniqueness and Consequent Intolerance of Christ
A radio broadcast by Maurice Johnson, which is just as true and relevant today as it was in the 1950’s when this was broadcast.

Rightly Dividing the Word
The Bible is the word of God. It sufficiently supplies our need for the knowledge of God, and is an adequate chart, compass and guide for us in the life that now is, and in things eternal.

The Transition in Acts
The Book of Acts is the inspired history of the overlapping of two programs of God with men: (1) the continuation and phasing out of His program with national Israel; and (2) the beginning and early development of His present program of building a spiritual “new man,” the church which is Christ’s body, of all who believe the gospel of Christ from all nations. The book of Acts records a period of transition from one program to the other.

Do All Speak in Tongues?
Though this study deals specifically with the “tongues” movement, every departure from “the simplicity that is in Christ” is fundamentally touched herein for the simple reason that all spiritual error is, at its root, the rejection of the Bible. It can be proved from the Word of God that both “Pentecostalism” and all of the “holiness” (second blessing) sects deny these seven fundamental Bible truths.

Bible Study on Acts
An early Greek manuscript simply placed the title (praxeis, doings) Acts on this book. It has been suggested the title “Acts of the Holy Spirit” would be more accurate because of the many references to the person and work of the Holy Spirit in matters of directing the early church.

Covenants
We read in Romans 9:4 that to Israel “pertaineth … the covenants.” A study of the covenants God has made in the past — and will make in the future — with Israel gives us a clear panoramic view of His program with (and for) them as a nation of people. Also such a study prepares us to understand what God”s truth is on other subjects, including “the Lord’s supper.”
