8 Important Things for Christians to Embrace

Meeting in The Name of the Lord Jesus Christ

  • Then those who feared the LORD talked with each other, and the LORD listened and heard (Mal 3:16)
  • “For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.” (Matt 18:20)
  • devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship (Acts 2:42)
  • And of him are you in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption (1 Cor 1:30)
  • And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. (Col 3:17)

Giving the Gospel of Salvation Through Faith in Jesus Christ

  • For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son (John 3:16)
  • Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life (John 3:36)
  • everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life (John 6:40)
  • I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live (John 11:25)
  • no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12)
  • one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus (1 Tim 2:5)
  • By this gospel you are saved … that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared (1 Cor 15:2-5)

According to the Scriptures

Encouraging Godly Growth

  • I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you (Acts 20:20)
  • pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness (1 Tim 6:11)
  • So then, encourage one another and build each other up, as you are doing (1 Thes 5:11)
  • encourage each other daily, while it is still called today (Heb 3:13)
  • let us continue to consider how to motivate one another to love and good deeds  (Heb 10:24)
  • exhorting one another: and so much the more, as you see the day approaching (Heb 10:25)
  • Let all these things be done for the strengthening of the church (1 Cor 14:26)
  • crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation (1 Pet 2:2)

Submitting to One Another in Love

  • Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood (Acts 20:28)
  • submit to such people and to everyone who joins in the work and labors (1 Cor 16:16)
  • Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. (Eph 4:2)
  • Now the overseer is to be above reproach … (1 Tim 3:2)
  • In the same way, deacons are to be worthy of respect (1 Tim 3:8)
  • Since an overseer manages God’s household, he must be blameless (Titus 1)
  • But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness. (James 3:17-18)
  • Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them (1 Pet 5:2)
  • In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” (1 Pet 5:5)

Serving One Another in Love

  • the greatest among you should take the lowest rank, (Luke 22:16)
  • and the leader should be like a servant (Luke 22:16)
  • In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly. (Rom 12:6-8)
  • Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves (Rom 12:10)
  • with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience (Col 3:12)
  • use your freedom to serve one another in love (Gal 5:13)
  • Rather, in humility value others above yourselves (Php 2:3)
  • Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. (Eph 5:2)
  • Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ (Eph 5:21)
  • love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith (1 Tim 1:5)
  • the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another (1 John 3:11)
  • be harmonious, sympathetic, affectionate, compassionate, and humble (1 Pet 3:8)

Forgiving One Another in Love

  • “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. (Luke 6:37)
  • Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. (Eph 4:32)
  • Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. (Col 3:12-14)
  • But if you have been merciful, God will be merciful when he judges you. (James 2:13)
