Don’t become tired and weary in doing what is good

If you have become tired and weary in doing the right thing, here are some verses to read, meditate, ponder, pray to allow them to work deep down into the fabric of your life.

Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let’s do what is good toward all men, and especially toward those who are of the household of the faith. (Galatians 6:9-10 WEB)

I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. (Psalm 27:13)

The steps of a man are ordered by the LORD, and He delights in his way. (Psalm 37:23)

The wicked man earns an empty wage, but he who sows righteousness reaps a true reward. (Proverbs 11:18)

We can make our own plans,
but the LORD gives the right answer.
People may be pure in their own eyes,
but the LORD examines their motives.
Commit your actions to the LORD,
     and your plans will succeed.
The LORD has made everything for his own purposes,
even the wicked for a day of disaster.
The LORD detests the proud;
     they will surely be punished.
Unfailing love and faithfulness make atonement for sin.
By fearing the LORD, people avoid evil.
When people’s lives please the LORD,
even their enemies are at peace with them.
Better to have little, with godliness,
than to be rich and dishonest.
We can make our plans,
but the LORD determines our steps. (Proverbs 16:1-9 NLT)

Many plans are in a man’s heart, but the purpose of the LORD will prevail. (Proverbs 19:21)

A man’s steps are from the LORD, so how can anyone understand his own way? (Proverbs 20:24)

He who pursues righteousness and loving devotion finds life, righteousness, and honor. (Proverbs 21:21)

I know, O LORD, that a man’s way is not his own; no one who walks directs his own steps. (Jeremiah 10:23)

Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:28-31)

“Now from the fig tree learn this parable. When its branch has now become tender, and puts forth its leaves, you know that the summer is near. Even so you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Most certainly I tell you, this generation will not pass away, until all these things are accomplished. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. (Matthew 24:32-35; Mark 13:28-31Luke 21:29-33)

“Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. Those who were foolish, when they took their lamps, took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. Now while the bridegroom delayed, they all slumbered and slept. But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Behold! The bridegroom is coming! Come out to meet him!’ Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. The foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘What if there isn’t enough for us and you? You go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ While they went away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut. Afterward the other virgins also came, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us.’ But he answered, ‘Most certainly I tell you, I don’t know you.’ Watch therefore, for you don’t know the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming. (Matthew 25:1-13 WEB)

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast and immovable. Always excel in the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. (1 Corinthians 15:58)

Therefore, since we have this ministry through the mercy of God, we do not lose heart. (2 Corinthians 4:1)

For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: (1 Peter 2:15)

Finally, brothers, we ask and encourage you in the Lord Jesus to live in a way that is pleasing to God, as you have received from us. This is how you already live, so you should do so all the more. (1 Thessalonians 4:1)

Make sure that no one repays evil for evil. Always pursue what is good for one another and for all people. (1 Thessalonians 5:15)

Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer awaits the precious fruit of the soil–how patient he is for the fall and spring rains. (James 5:7)

Consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. (Hebrews 12:3)
